Private investigator hired originally by [[Morris]] to look into [[Diana]]'s past<ref>[[Things Fall Apart|Beneath Cold Boughs, Chapter 0 - Things Fall Apart]]</ref>, though by the time he got results things no longer mattered as much as the Children had experienced their Homecoming. Morris hired him again later to dig up information about the [[Aryan Legion]] so that he could hurt them<ref>[[Ripples on the Pond|Beneath Cold Boughs, Chapter 7 - Ripples on the Pond]]</ref>. As a gay black man, Matthews jumped at the chance to deliver some payback to the AL.
