Merits

Spiritual Blockage (Fighting Style)

Take a -2 penalty on a Brawl or Weaponry attack against a creature that uses Essence. If it deals damage, the prey also loses 1 Essence, or 2 on an exceptional success. This counts as spent, limiting the amount the prey can spend in a turn.

Gifts

  • Eyes of the Dead (Instant, 1 Essence): Roll Wits+Occult+Wisdom. On success, see the last thing a corpse saw before it died. On exceptional success, see Wisdom minutes before death.
  • One Step Ahead (Instant, 1 Essence): Must see chosen prey, a building or location they are in or a map of their location. Gains insight on the prey’s next steps based on scale of observation, eg. which exit they’ll take from a room (sight), which exit they’ll come out of a building (building/location) or general direction of movement (map).
  • Shadow Gaze (Reflexive, 1 Essence, Scene): Add Wisdom to all Empathy rolls against spirits and the Ridden. May spend an Instant action to study a spirit to learn its ban and bane (roll Wits + Occult + Wisdom vs. Resistance. First use free, subsequent uses cose 1 Essence each).
  • Spirit Whispers (Instant, 1 Essence): Roll Presence+Persuasion+Wisdom to ask a question of an object or dormant spirit. On success, it gives a short, direct answer.
