Lucan Black is a gothic musician and a relatively new member of the Wardens werewolf pack, still figuring things out and trying to balance the sides of his life.
Background
Self-taught musician and goth for as long as he has been old to choose his own wardrobe. Little contact with family, left home to not deal with their derision and found it hard to get into music. Ended up working minimum wage jobs to pay for nights out at Unity with the Cherubim when he could dance and sing along with the classics. The Change shook all that up. He remembers losing control while being chewed out by his boss and coming to his senses surrounded by ruin and blood, a strange goth hobo watching him. He explained what had happened, and that he would need to move on. That "the world would not remain still for him". Jack. He brought Lucan into the world of the Uratha and taught him enough that he could face the trials of the Bone Shadows and learn the secret truths of the Shadow and the Dead. That was pretty cool, and very goth.
Description
Tall, wan and pale with stereotypically gothic hair, straight long and dyed black. Warm brown eyes that contrast with the cold rest of him. Well-kept mall goth aesthetics - black trenchcoat, spikes, new rocks and a lurid tee. Smiles a lot easily than expected for a goth, wears the aesthetic well.
Storytelling Hints
Lucan is quintessentially goth. Moody, dramatic and rather catty when he wants to be. He thinks of himself as the star of his own little story and assumes others will follow along. He finds the newness of the uratha to be very gothic, full of towering passions and dramatic emotions, prophetic dreams and actual ghosts. The blood is a little less inspiring, but he finds it less offensive by the day.
Blood & Bone: Legend/Hedonist. He dreams of greatness and the pleasures that will bring. Why not enjoy life and be the greatest he can be?
Chronicles
Under A Killing Moon
Lucan was introduced to Atlas, Jerome and Michael after Jack Crow asked him to keep an eye on the two newly-Changed wolves and a nuzusul on the brink while he chased up leads about the Black Trees. They crashed at Winters apartment, not yet realising that Winters was missing, and were arrested by BCPD investigating that disappearance. Or rather, Atlas, Jerome and Michael were arrested while animal control was called to take the large black wolf-dog lurking in the apartment. Lucan gave them the slip and found the others after Atlas' rampage in the 5th Precinct, quelling her first Rage and leading them to Dekker Street Station for the first time.
Since then he has helped with the investigations and assaults on the Black Trees, notably against the one growing in Rory Burton's apartment, and faced the consequences of kuruth when an argument between Atlas and Winters exploded into violence and a rage spiral consumed most of the pack. Michael's quick thinking saves him from Lucan's fangs, but at least two vagrants living in the subway system were not so lucky.
Connections
- The Wardens: Still figuring things out, but happy to no longer be the newest cub in the pack.
- The Cherubim Society: Friends, on the cusp of slipping away due to Changes.
- Annabel Death-lost: Fellow Bone Shadow, finds her charming but not quite sure where he stands with her.
Abilities
- Gothic War-Singer (7 dice, 9-Again): Lucan has a haunting voice with a otherworldly resonance that breaks hearts, inspires dread, or calm the fires of kuruth.
- Knife-Fighter (6 dice): Not as experienced with his natural weapons as his packmates, Lucan uses a klaive-knife as his preferred weapon on the hunt.
