The Blood Talons (Suthar Anzuth in the First Tongue, lit. "the bloodied talons of the eagle") are one of the five Tribes of the Moon. They are a martial tribe or honor and warfare, at once the simplest tribe to understand and the most complex. The Blood Talons see struggle and warfare as a spiritual command, something to be pursued not simply to defeat their enemies but because honing the mind and body into a weapon honours Fenris-Ur and Urfarah himself.
Not every challenge is physical and the Blood Talons attack every problem with the same passion and ferocity, believing in the hunt, the battle, and the kill, whether in the board room, the battlefield or academics. The Talons call this state of mind Thu Ibiru or "All War"; the destruction of all obstacles, physical, spiritual and mental alike to reach a state of mind similar to Zen. As a result, psychopaths, violent thugs and stupid people have little place in their ranks; although a share of them remains, as in all Tribes. They focus instead on instincts, strategic thinking and an iron will when seeking new members.
Tribal Oath
Offer No Surrender You Would Not Accept. (Nu Su Ghumur Nu Su Ghid in the First Tongue). While many Blood Talons loathe compromise, seeing it as another facet of surrender, what constitutes an acceptable surrender varies according to each individual werewolf's judgement. The warrior ideals of the Blood Talons support neither cowardice not foolish vainglory, and any werewolf who falls into either extreme will find the Suthar Anzuth will do whatever is required to remind him of his Oaths.

The Blood Talons revere Fenris-Ur, the Destroyer Wolf, the most aggressive and strongest of his brethren, and brother to Danu-Ur, the Creator Wolf. The Blood Talons tell that they were the first to swear the Oath of the Moon, after one of their own had challenged Fenris-Ur to battle for protection. Refusing to yield to the Firstborn, the werewolf died in battle, impressing the Destroyer enough to accept all those who would follow the example set by his challenger.
Blood Talons in Blackmouth
The majority of the Suthar Anzuth in Blackmouth are part of the McCracken Clan or acknowledge Neil McCracken, patriarch and alpha of the clan, as the guiding claw of the Tribe in the area.
Notable members of the tribe who have appeared in chronicles set in Blackmouth include:
- Neil McCracken, alpha and patriarch of the McCracken Clan. An implacable old rahu whose iron-willed traditionalism lead to the Nights of the Broken Moon.
- Dominic Fang-Breaker, stubborn old lone wolf, lingering on the edge of haranu since the loss of his pack in the violence of the '90s.
- Semira Rider, member of the Valkyria, travelling ghost-speaker and warrior for the dead.
