- Fred Spears: Ex-custodian of Willowgate Arcade. Resilient, southern, African-American, no fucks to give.
- Layla Spenser: Congenial older woman, part of the protests against the demolition of Willowgate. Knew about the Tree, was involved in the incident in the 80s.
- Suleiman: Stern older mage, master of Mel. Has architectural Interests. Wishes to know about what is going on in Ormwood.

- Hank Torres: Foreman of the ODL crew working Willowgate Arcade before and during demolition. Wounded by the Tree but finanical troubles forced him to keep working.
