Breaking Point Beneath A Shadowed Sky, Part 2

In which the pack hunts, and arrives at the first moot in a decade.

What Happened

  • The pack started a hunt for an offering to bring to the Moot. Jack and Morrigan hung back and let the others lead in the hunt. They did so in urhan form, working together as a pack to bring down a bear that had stirred from its den in search of food. They sampled a little of their kill and brought the carcass with them deeper to the Caern.
  • After a trek through the increasingly-inhospitable forest, they reached the clearing of the Caern of the Shadowed Sky, where the attendees for the moot were starting to gather.
  • There they met several Hunters in Darkness; among them were Conall Stonetalker, keeper of the Caern, Old Man Autumn, Morrigan's mentor in the ways of the Meninna, and Jenny, Autumn's current (and begruding) travelling companion.
  • Jack met an old friend he had not seen since before the Nights of the Broken Moon, a fellow Iron Master who had fled the city to survive.
  • Jerome approached Old Man Autumn and asked about joining the Hunters in Darkness, asked about what their philosophy and beliefs were, and decided that they might be a good fit for him
  • Jenny appeared to take a liking to Atlas, then steered her directly into the path of Baishan Kensas, Neil McCracken and their cohorts. Dominic interposed himself before things could become violent, using tribal bonds with McCracken and the other Blood Talons to buy space for Atlas to get away.

Plot Developments & Facts Discovered

  • Travellers to the Caern are expected to bring an offering on their first visit. The pack did so with a bear carcass. Other offerings included a stag, several does, a fox, a bird of prey, an especially feral-looking dog (wearing a spiked collar), and a calf.
  • Attendees at the Moot include more than just the packs who claim territory in Blackmouth itself. There are wolves from further afield present as well.
  • The Lightning Chains, an outlaw motorcycle club known to be involved in organised crime along the New England highways, is at least partially a werewolf pack. Its leader is an ally of Neil McCracken and also has an issue with Hekate.
